Have you ever wanted to experience ocean life up close and personal? Orlando has the perfect spot to fulfill that wish, no matter what age you are. SeaWorld’s Discovery Cove specializes in experiences with ocean life, without the hassle of waiting in line. The park is reservation-only and all-inclusive, with attendance restricted to only 1,300 guests per day to provide everyone intimate experiences with the wildlife.
Arrive early at the park in order to have a chance to feed Cownose and Southern Stingrays at Discovery Cove. During Ray Feeding, there are also other hungry fish waiting to be fed once you arrive and you’ll have a chance to give them breakfast as well. After you’ve filled your new friend’s stomachs, continue along with water into a private, guided tour of The Grand Reef, where you’ll encounter many of those same creatures while learning more about them and their environment. Swim alongside sharks just a glass wall away and take new paths into “hidden grottos” while playing with the fish.
One highlight of Discovery Cover is the Dolphin Lagoon, where you can spend some time during your day in a one-on-one dolphin encounter. This experience is included with your park admission and during your swim with the dolphins you’ll learn more about the species while being accompanied by a trainer who can answer all of your questions.
An exploration factor provided by Discovery Cove is the Seaventure Underwater Tour, an underwater walking tour where you can learn about species that live underwater while coming face-to-face with some of them. This attraction is 45 minutes long and surrounds you with tons of wildlife throughout your entire journey across Discovery Cove’s reef.
If you want to take a break between saltwater before your next wildlife spot, try out Explorer’s Aviary, where you will be surrounded by exotic birds. You’ll have a chance to watch these feathery friends swoop into your hand and grab some food, or enjoy the sound of birdsong as you walk through their habitat away from all of the water-based attractions.
After visiting all of your saltwater friends, you can move along to Discovery Cove’s Freshwater Oasis, the theme parks new attraction featuring face-to-face interactions with otters and marmosets. Enjoy your time in these clear springs while being covered by a rainforest canopy above. Keep swimming experience at Serenity Bay, where you and any accompanying children can unleash your playful side in this freshwater playground.
Discovery Cove also has various ways to make your visit special, whether it be through a birthday celebration or a wedding. There are various packages to create that special day for you or someone you love. Wedding proposals can be planned, weddings are done before the park even opens and birthday celebrations can be planned at the theme park as well.
Whatever your area of watery interest, Discovery Cove has it all – whether you’re going for enjoyment or knowledge, this Orlando location is sure going to be a hit with family and friends. Prepare to enjoy a refreshing day away from the long lines in the Florida sun while making new wild friends.
