There is so much to see and do during a trip to Orlando that it can be overwhelming to nail down an itinerary that appeals to each member of the family. The good news is that there is something for everyone here, from the nature fanatic to the thrill seeker.
The Great Outdoors
Central Florida is full of outdoor adventures that range from mild to wild. If you’re looking to experience wildlife up close, but in a safe environment, Wild Florida is the place for you.
View more than 200 animals in Wild Florida’s wildlife park and chat with experts to learn more about each species, which includes lemurs, zebra, watusi, bobcats, sloths and other exotic animals. There is also a petting zoo that is perfect for the youngest members of the family, who are encouraged to feed and pet the baby animals. Or you can take an old-fashioned tour of the Doc Partin Ranch on a ranch buggy to see all of the animals that reside at the ranch. The Doc Partin Ranch is home to American Brahman cattle, deer, eagles, wild hogs and wild turkey.
Though there are many animal interactions at Wild Florida, it is most famously known for its airboat tours through the Florida Everglades. As you glide over the water in U.S. Coast Guard approved airboats, experienced captains will point out alligators, eagles and other wildlife that call the waterways home. You will never have the same experience twice.
For all things alligator, take a day trip to Gatorland. Among the thousands of alligators and crocodiles at the park, see if you can spot the four rare leucistic white alligators. Get up close and personal with the gators during a behind-the-scenes tour of the Alligator Breeding Marsh or participate in the Rookie Wrestling experience. You can even take part in the Gator Night Shine where a guide will lead you and your family along the wooden walkways with flashlights and hot dogs in hand to spot gators.
One of Gatorland’s biggest thrills is the Screamin’ Gator Zip Line, where you will soar over the treetops at 1,200 feet in the air. This adventure even takes you across the Alligator Breeding Marsh as 130 giant alligators, along with Cuban and Nile crocodiles, watch you glide from below.
On The Water
As the temperatures begin to rise you might be looking for a place to cool off. An aquatic adventure on one of the area’s beautiful lakes will do the trick.
Orlando Fly Sports offers the best in extreme watersports fun. You can take a turn on a flyboard, flying around the lake in jet boots that are powered by a jet ski; a hoverboard that takes the wakeboarding experience to the air; or become a super hero with a flight on a jet pack. This equipment may seem difficult or scary to use, but proper instruction is provided so everyone that gets on is able to fly across the water in no time while doing it safely. Hotel pick-up and drop-off services are available.
If you’re interested in jet skis, wakeboarding, tubing or paddleboarding for a more leisurely day on the water, you must schedule a trip to Buena Vista Watersports. An entire private lake is at your disposal for you to enjoy the water activities. Wakeboard and waterski lessons from professional instructors are also available, and complimentary beach access and volleyball come with every rental so you can spend your whole day in the sun and on the water.
Have you ever wanted to race like a NASCAR driver? Or perfect your aim at a shooting range? How about fly in a military aircraft? If any of those sparked your interest, you’re in the right place.

The innovative circuit has many features that will make your race anything but boring so get together a group of friends for a spin around the track or get your whole family in on the action. If you need a break from the adrenaline rush, there are arcade games to play and a place to grab a snack while you watch the races.
Experience shooting real machine guns or one of the premier firearms options at Machine Gun America’s range or take it to a realistic, military-grade simulator where you can pull the trigger on zombies, outlaws and more. At Orlando’s first and only Automatic Adrenaline Attraction, you’ll experience non-stop excitement through a variety of shooting experiences. But safety is the top priority at this state-of-the-art facility. Each of the range safety officers have a background in military or law enforcement so you can focus on the experience while they look out for your safety.
If you are really an adventure seeker, a trip to Warbird Adventures needs to be on your bucket list. You get to sit in the front seat of the Premier Fighter-Trainer of World War II and take control while a pilot instructs you from behind. The pilot will let you choose how adventurous your course is, whether you want to perform aerobatic maneuvers, or if you want to fly smooth and enjoy the view. For those who aren’t brave enough to venture into the skies aboard the North American T-6 Texan, there is an air museum filled with aircrafts, power plants and small arms for you to walk through.
