Family Fun for All Ages
WonderWorks, Orlando’s only upside down attraction, is an amusement park for the mind. Focused on “edu-tainment,” it features more than 100 hands-on exhibits that combine education and entertainment to challenge the mind and encourage guests to use their imagination. Exhibits include a three-story indoor ropes challenge course, a 4D extreme motion ride, laser tag and even a nightly magic comedy dinner show.
With lots of interactive exhibits and arcade games, Wonderworks is a high-tech science center. The ropes course and 4D movie ride are included with admission![/caption]
The three-story ropes adventure features a glow-in-the-dark course along with more than 20 obstacles, including a tightrope walk, tremor bridge and swinging steps that must be conquered along the way. Participants will reach a maximum of 36 feet as they conquer each obstacle. The ropes course is air-conditioned and offers a year-round weatherproof challenge for families. Closed shoes are required and no dresses or skirts are permitted on the course. For safety reasons, children must be at least 42″ tall to participate with an adult or 48″ tall to participate alone.
Another exciting feature is the 4D XD Motion Theater, a simulated thrill ride that takes families on an amazing adventure that transcends time, space and imagination by combing a 3D film with special effects and full-motion seats. The current featured movies are “Fly Me to the Mood 3D,” “Wall of China 2” and “Canyon Coaster.”
The whole family will enjoy a round in the laser tag arena. Chase your opponents through the black-lit maze and keep your eyes open so they don’t get you first. It’ll be an epic laser battle. Upgrade your general admission ticket to jump into the arena. When your laser tag battle has ended, head over to the video game arcade, where you can play air hockey, ride the Harley Davidson motorcycles, shoot some hoops, race in the Daytona USA and much more.
There’s More To See
In addition to these exciting adventures, you can learn and discover in each of the attraction’s Wonder Zones. Become a human lightning rod in the Natural Disasters zone, create 3D images of your body on a gigantic pin wall in the Physical Challenge zone, move at the speed of light in the Light & Sound zone, and step inside a space suit or climb into a replica of a launch capsule in the Space Discovery zone. But that’s not all. In the Imagination Lab, you can get creative with a gigantic version of a Lite-Brite, and the Far Out Art Gallery allows you to explore paintings and artwork of illusions.
While you’re there, check out The Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show. Be amazed at this incredible show with spectacular magic, improvisational comedy and tons of audience participation. During the show, guests are served unlimited pizza, popcorn, beer, wine, soda and dessert.
Shows are offered nightly at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., and reservations are recommended to ensure you have a seat to the best value in town. Purchase single admissions or combo packages to enjoy all that Wonderworks has to offer.
